Language Requirements

Depending on the programme of study, instruction at International University of Sarajevo is carried in English. Applicants wishing to pursue studies in Undergraduate programmes taught in English must obtain:
a) passed IELTS Academic module with 6 points and above (in Turkey, taken only from British Council test centers *)
b) passed TOEFL IBT with 70 points and above (in Turkey, taken only from University-run test centers *)
Applicants who are unable to submit satisfactory results in any of the tests above may take up language proficiency courses at the university to fulfill the admission requirements.

Other Requirements

If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview and/or take an entrance test conducted by the University. Applicants should note that normally there are more applications than places available at the University. The fulfillment of the minimum entrance requirements alone does not guarantee admission into the University.

Minimum required documents:

  • Passport (min. two years validity)
  • High School diploma (translated into English)
  • High School transcripts (last 4 years education transcripts; O-level and A-level)
  • Motivation letter
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Criminal record (no more than 3 months old)
  • English language certificate B2 level with overal score above 6.00points(Applicants may have the choice of either taking TOEFL/IELTS certificates or sitting for the IUS English Placement and Proficiency Tests)
  • 4 photos passport size

* TOEFL/IELTS Test scores obtained from any other test center (Private Language Courses or similar) will not be admissible as proof of language proficiency at the International University of Sarajevo. Upon receipt of the "ORIGINAL" score sheet from TOEFL/IELTS, student will submit the score sheet "IN PERSON" to the ELS Director for review and interview. Test-taker copy cannot be accepted as proof of language proficiency. The validity period for these scores is as stated on the Score Sheet
